Parnassus
This work is inspired by Raphael's greatest masterpiece the Parnassus. It consists of nine continuously played fragments, depicting the nine Muses in Greek mythology as certain impressions. As a tribute to the “golden age” of counterpoint, this work is dedicated to the great composer Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina in the 16th century as a commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the composer's birth in 2025. This rocord recording was performed by HCMF Ensemble and conducted by Maestro Chikako Iversen.
Nostalgia
This piece was written for string orchestra and was completed in 2022. This piece is based on the melody of a song and it expresses a lyrical melody through the adagio. The title of the work is a homesick song, which expresses nostalgia for the bygone time.
Flute Song
This is a song about mutual understanding. In the song, the male voice and the female voice represent different roles. Together they demonstrated the importance of empathy. Trust between people depends on mutual understanding between people. I believe that not being understood is a very frustrating feeling. Especially as musicians, we hope that our music can be understood and liked by the audience. The recording of this work was sung by the Coro Volante and conducted by Maestro Brett Scott.
Ballad from afar
Composed in 2024, the solo piano piece “Ballad from afar” draws on the musical materials of ancient nursery rhymes, blends them into abstract sound symbols, and reconstructs the traditional ballad materials from the perspective of modern art through dramatized musical language.
